STIP (Samverkan Torsboda Industrial Park) is a collaborative project between Härnösand, Timrå, Sundsvall and Region Västernorrland. The project is a joint effort by the municipalities to prepare society for a major establishment in Torsboda, with the aim of creating at least two thousand new jobs.
A scenario with thousands of prospective migrants will require significant preparation and effort in terms of spatial planning, such as housing, services, transport, infrastructure and the environment.
The big starting point was the joint collaboration meeting at Södra Berget in October last year, when 300 employees from the municipalities gathered to start the work.
STIP also aims to package, promote and disseminate knowledge about the site to surrounding communities and stakeholders.
