The municipal council in Timrå adopted the detailed plan for Torsboda Nord on 28 August 2023. It was appealed by the Swedish Transport Administration on the grounds that the traffic solution for the area was not acceptable. Now that the municipalities of Timrå and Sundsvall have decided to pay for a permanent traffic junction on the E4, the Swedish Transport Administration has withdrawn its appeal. The Land and Environment Court dismissed the case on February 7, 2024 and the decision will enter into force on February 29. This means that the detailed plan will be adopted and that Torsboda Nord is designated as industrial land.

The purpose of Torsboda Nord is to create conditions for industrial activities in accordance with Timrå municipality's comprehensive plan. The development will meet the region's need for growth and development of business and the labor market.
