Untying the knots - shared responsibility for the green transition

On Wednesday, the government's industrial coordinator Kristina Alvendal visited us and we talked about our investment in Torsboda and raised important issues. Together with her colleagues at the newly launched acceleration office, she is working to identify knots that slow down the green transition and to propose measures to solve them.

- For me, it is clear that the green transition is business-driven and that the will and drive required to succeed are found in the municipalities and in companies," says Kristina Alvendal. "The transition is not about one or two companies; things are happening all over Sweden now and we have the chance to position ourselves as a country. We must ensure that decision-making processes can run smoothly and that different authorities do not make things difficult for each other, which is sometimes the case.

Among other things, we highlighted the investments in infrastructure that are needed in municipalities that invest in transition and growth. We want the state to help finance certain parts of this, with the E4 interchange being one example.

- Municipalities and regions are capable of a great deal, but government support and increased cooperation between authorities where it is justified can change the conditions enormously for municipalities and like ours out in the country. I'm glad we got to talk about this today," says Christian Söderberg, CEO of Torsboda Industrial Park.
