Here and now in Torsboda

The industrial park's first entrepreneurs are working on their permits and Torsboda Industrial Park's work with infrastructure and to attract more establishments continues. Christian Söderberg, CEO of Torsboda Industrial Park, answers some questions here:

How is the work with the first entrant going?

- Our first entrant, PTL, is awaiting notification of environmental permits from the Land and Environment Court and the go-ahead for the investment from the ISP, the Swedish Inspectorate for Strategic Products. Only when PTL has received a yes from ISP can we finalize the land deal with them. A decision from ISP should come this fall, at the latest in December.

The law ISP deals with, the Foreign Direct Investment Review, came into force in December 2023, after Torsboda signed an agreement with PTL. What does it mean?

- As the law did not exist when we signed the contract with PTL, we have had to make an additional agreement. The latest date for the buyer to take possession has now been moved from last July to last December this year. The original agreement states that the date can be changed if the parties agree.

What else do you do in the company?‍

- At Torsboda Industrial Park, we are working to get more industries to establish themselves here. We have a mission to attract companies that contribute to green transition and provide many jobs per square meter and megawatt. Work on infrastructure for the industrial park is also underway, and we are collaborating with MittSverige Vatten och Avfall, E.ON and the Swedish Transport Administration, among others. Many balls are in the air and it's fun!
